Our youngest (3yr 9mths) has just learnt to cycle without the aid of any stabilisers/training wheels. What was really amazing is that we didn't have to help him like the other 2 by holding on to the bike until they got going. He just picked up an old bike the boys use in the back garden, scooted for a bit then put both feet on the pedals and cycled. I suppose he has seen his brothers and me cycle so much he just learnt by watching

As a reward we bought a new bike which he hasn't been off since, he even cycles a mile to his pre-school with my wife running behind. I've actually started calling him Lance

AWSOME!!! I am trying to get my 6 year old to ride, it's even hard to get her on her training wheel bike, but let her see her trail-a-bike and she gets her helmet, gloves And a couple of fruit rool-ups.

My 4 year old started riding without training wheels this last christmas (at 4 years 3 months). Over several months he has developed an absolutely amazing control of his bike. He comes up with new tricks to perform on his bike all the time. My wife got this picture of him back in April showing off one of his tricks.

When my oldest son was 4 and on training wheels, there was another 4 year old mainiac kid down the street that would go up steep driveways and shoot down them into the street, over curbs, and screaming like a banshee. He had better control of his bike than I did!

Samundson, that is an awsome picture.

:D I keep thinking I should take my Dad's kids down to the park and do some mountain biking with them. Now I know I should. :D
