...to work out that the bus stopped across one lane with it's turn signal on is trying to get to the other lane.
But here is the Mystical Orient it is apparently not very clear what is going on. Yes, it might seem like a racist thing to say, but here goes......STUPID ASIAN DRIVERS! Arrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!
I have a short commute to work where I have to get into the middle of 3 lanes for a few hundred metres so that I can make a safe turn without being forced up onto a fly-over from the left lane (sorry US readers, I'm on the wrong side of the road!). There is a major bus stop just before the exit to the fly-over and not all the buses need to go that way, some have to go straight and therefore need to get to that middle lane.
So, I'm riding to work down this road and the bus is trying to move across. The driver even has his hand out the window waving his intentions, but everyone is forcing their way past and not waiting up. I have the opportunity to take the lane safely, so I stop at the back of the bus and wave to the driver to come on out.
The clown driver right behind me just lays on the horn. 'Hey look', he's thinking, 'some dumb gweilo on a bike is blocking the road'. He's not looking further than the front of his own hood because the bus is 2 metres in front of me and it is practically blocking the sun (it's a double decker for @#$% sake).
I flip the bird over my shoulder and ride to work in total amazement at how crappy the driver training is in Hong Kong.
