Foo - Firefox 3.0.12

Ever since Firefox updated to 3.0.12 a couple of days ago, it takes almost exactly 25 seconds for it to open. Anyone else having this problem? I've cleared temp files. Rebooted. Still the same. Any ideas? :(

I'm not having that problem, least it doesn't occur so for me.

I did not have that trouble on my xubuntu machine after I updated it to 3.0.12 this morning.

No problems. How many addons do you have?

I have nine extensions. Do you think one or more of those could be slowing it down?

Id delete firefox from your system then reinstall. If it still does it delete all your addons and repeat. Then reinstall one at a time.

I just upgraded to Ubuntu 9.04 on both my computers, and Firefox 3.0.12 came along with. Works fine as far as I've noticed, with the added bonus of FlashBlock no longer crashing the browser.

Is there an easy way to backup my FF bookmarks?

I thought the current version of FF was 3.5. I must have been to the future and back!

I went ahead and completely removed it and upgraded to 3.5.1. It opens in ONE second. :)

Mine just updated today. Didn't notice it taking any longer, but it ALWAYS takes a long time. 25 seconds would be a short time for me. At least on my work computer. My home computer its always been fine.

I have an account over there, but I don't use it terribly often, as many of the ubuntu forums pertain to usage of the desktop environment, which I always chuck in favor of rolling my own.

I mean, it might take 25s on my p2/266 with Debian at home, buuut... it's a p2 with only 192MB of RAM, so I expect this behavior.

Google chrome is the best!

Have tried Chrome numerous times. Just my opinion and maybe I haven't given it a chance yet, but I think it blows.

It took a while to get used to, but when I load up, I see 9 huge avatars for the most visited web pages I visit, and it's very handy and ultra-fast.

After recent discussion, I just tried Chrome again. It is definitely very fast, but it just chokes on too many web pages (ones I visit often) and has too many quirks for me to use regularly.

Google Chrome is OK, but until it sports NoScript like functionality so a new zero day exploit doesn't pwn my box, I'm sticking with Firefox for most of my Web browsing, Safari on my Macbook, or IE8 in a virtual machine that drops all changes when closed if the site doesn't play well with Firefox.
