I've got a Shimano HollowtechII crank on my commuter - Tiagra, I think. After 6500km, I'm getting some creaking from the BB, and it might be time to replace the bearings. I'm wondering if there is a difference in quality for the Hollowtech II bearing cups, and if there is, which model offers the best protection against rain/wet/dirt/grit. I ride this bike year round in Vancouver.
I'm a big rider (250#) and I've crushed lesser and lightweight BB's before. Since this is for my 'daily driver' I'd prefer a part that keeps maintenance to a minimum.
Any experience / recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
