I am curious as to what 'advertised' or 'designed' frame size of my very early 90s Diamond back mtb frame is.

What I mean is I can measure the seat tube and get a value, but can't find what the manufacturer has measured or designed the size to be. I know its just a value and that the fit is what matters, but its one of those things I just like to know.

Actually I can't find any kind of stamping or marking on the frame as to S/N, frame size, etc. Where should I look? I've looked on seat tube, bottom bracket. Its a black frame, maybe I need to look harder?

Thanks,
Al

It would be unusual for it to be marked on the bike. Absent a Diamond web site
you might try Trek, Cannondale, Specialized, Giant and a few other websites and
see if they have any commonality in the way they size their frames. Usually it will
be either center or the BB axle to center of or top of top tube. Steve
