Hi all, new member here :D. I'm just wondering if I might ask a question.

Im 18 years old, male, and I live in Aberdeen Scotland. After about 2-3 years of mountain biking and not doing any other sport, I seem to have developed a fairly ugly body. My hips and upper leg muscles are HUGE (hips measure about size 32, waist about size 29) and I have fairly skinny calfs and lower leg. I was wondering if this is due to cycling, and if I'll need to take up a different sport to improve the aesthetics of my body? I don't want to give up cycling, but I feel my body is starting to look quite ugly and relatively similar to that of a women's - and if cycling is the cause of this then I'll have to.

Thanks for any comments or advice :)

Iain

I dont know if it is due to cycling, it could be genetics or your body type.
To change the calves size is realy difficult, but if you want you could make some wheightlifiting for the uper body, like sholder presses, lateral raises, push-ups, and shin-ups, those are simple moves you can make at your home.

Get to a gym and talk with some bodybuilders. You can weight train w/o impacting your regular cycling routine in most cases.

Sounds like you need your upperbody to catch up with the lower. I lift the MAX-OT way (google, my friend) and it works!!!

Good Luck,

Come one, I have developed big, muscular, and defined thighs, hips, and calves and I am proud of them. I make sure to show off my quads all the time!!!
