I'm thinking about picking up a Colnago frameset. I believe it is from the late 1980s, maybe 88 or 89. This is a picture from the 1988 Colnago catalog and the bike looks very much like this Superissimo except it is blue to blue fade instead of blue to white. Has the same web paint though:

It is Columbus SLX tubing. Number stamped on the right rear dropout is B41.

It is in excellent condition. Looks barely ridden with only two minor paint nicks.

What are peoples opinions of a late 1980s Superissimo? What about value for a frameset in very good to excellent shape?

Thanks in advance!

I'll weigh in and give my opinion, IT'S FRICKIN GORGEOUS! I think the blue to blue fade you describe would be even better. I think the late 80's steel was the best that will ever be. I'm a beer guy, this is champagne level to me, but I'd be curious to what they're asking for it; 500, 600, 700+?
