I'm not absolutely certain, but I don't think anyone has made the podium after taking more than two years off of racing.

I'm really not a fan of Contador, at all, but I will give it to him that he can climb re-he-eeeely fast.

Is the only way you can build Armstrong up is to tear other people down? You are a really sad person.
Maybe Armstrong and Contador both had great performances and one doesn't diminish the other.
Besides you're not even factually correct: Contador climbed really fast and won the two ITTs.

Well, if AC can podium at 37 years of age, he will get props from me. I too think Armstrong getting 3rd is an amazing accomplishment. Everyone expected AC to win, and few put LA on the podium, and in fact many were calling for less than a top 10 finish or even a finish.
And you must be a loser too, cause you never wore a yellow jersey.

Not quoting myself but editing myself rather. As has been pointed out Contador did not win both ITTs. He was second to Cancellara in stage 1.

You have heard of WW I and WW II haven't you. Quite a few riders were 2 or more years out of cycling, including the top 2 Italian cyclists ever. Both of whom won the TDF after WW II. One of them spent close to if not more than 2 years in a POW camp in North Africa.
