Long Distance Competition/Ultracycling, Randonneuring and Endurance Cycling - Those of you who track elevation gain...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Where do you stand for the year?
I'm at about 145,000 feet for roughly 3,800 miles.
I actually haven't done much climbing this year compared to years past.
Maybe I'll shoot for the quarter million mark before the first day of autumn.

222K for 4122mi ytd.

5385 & 5841 feet gain per 100 miles respectively against my measly 3800ish. Very nice.
I've been enjoying some lightly traveled, two lane roads through dairy farm country here in the Lake Champlain Valley this year and they just happen to be quite flat. Although on windy days I really get beat up, both mentally and physically.

I'm at 217,166' in 3812 miles to date. I have some big climbing coming up in the next few weeks, so I should get to 350k easily for the year (depending on when the snow/rain starts).

Wow, I had no idea anyone kept track of these STATs. Good job folks!
So I have a 705 and it of course measures gain per ride, but how are y'all adding up all the rides?
I'm using WKO for most of my analysis, and from what I can tell it won't add up gain; are you using Garmin TrainingCenter, or a spreadsheet, or what?
My mileage seems pretty paltry in comaprison, but I only started riding in May. This was an exceptional year for spring skiing on Mt. Washington :)
2,028.78 miles; 120,935 ft elevation gain
About 60 ft/mi (6,000 per 100 miles).

I have a 305 and just use the Garmin Training Center software. The cumulative elevation gain is one of the default columns. I uncheck columns such as calories burned (it's a joke anyway).

112,233 feet, in 2,025.72 miles - not much in miles, although given that distance, I'm not ashamed of the climbing.
I did have a heart attack in December, which made me delay serious riding for several weeks.

Thx - I'd be interested to see where I fall, but I don't feel like uploading everything into TC... I'm really surprised WKO doesn't do that.

It's a screen capture of my rides from BiM (see my sig below). BiM captures all of those stats for me using the GPS in my cell phone.
My morning commute to work on the bike has 1,200ft of climbing every day:
http://bimactive.com/ba/journal/post/10783/25412 <-----I blogged my ride in from this morning here
On the weekends, I tend to ride with the DC Randonneurs. They do century rides on Saturday and Sunday. Many times I do both rides with them. They have at least 4,000ft of climbing, minimum, with many in the 6,000-8,000 ft range.
