For those of you who like to carry a chair on tour, how do you pack it? I just got a cradle lounger, which I really like and want to take on tour, but I'm not sure where to pack it. it won't fit in my panniers, doesn't fold completely flat to fit on top of my back rack under my tent, and looks kind of ridiculous plopped on top of my tent, pad, and sleeping bag though that's where it might have to go. Anyone have some chair packing tips?

Buy a chair that works with your sleeping pad, mine weighs 6 oz and rolls up to fit in the pannier.

My 'chair' folds up to pack away.

If your chair has rivetted joints, would drilling the rivets out make dismantling and packing it easier?
If so, you could use some spare bike bolts and nuts to reassemble the chair on the campsite.

My family got me one of these chairs for touring.

Expensive yes, but work great and they breakdown into a very small package (about 3x10 inches). I used it on a recent tour and really enjoyed the comfort after a day in the saddle. Plus, it fit easily in side my pannier.
