Road Cycling - Time to Confess?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
With David Millar owning up to his past mistakes I think it's time for everyone on this forum to follow suit.
Who here hasn't resorted to artificial means to speed up the progress of their training. I don't care if its HGH, EPO or just plain 'roids. What have your experiences been and has it been worth the risks. I don't mean the risk of being caught, rather the potential health hazards.
Sometimes there are just not enough hours in the day what with work, family etc., you have to cut corners sometimes so lets hear about your experiences.

When you don't have the motivation, you always have the 'roids.
I drink a shake made from ice cream and soy protein powder sometimes.

The only articicial means I have ever used is drafting a John Deere tractor and a loaded county truck a few times! :p
I would not dream of taking roids etc..
Accelerade and protein shakes. Call the cops.

I tried a couple hits off my buddys albuterol ventilator. He's a bonifide asthmatic. I am not. It opened me up and helped me breathe a bit better, but It also raised my heartrate considerably. If anything it made me slower, as the elevated heart rate caused me to blow up quicker.
That stuff was a lifesaver when training in the spring with all the pollen, but on race day, forget it.
I sometimes train on hills (or what pass for hills here)
so I guess I'm training at altitude. :D
Like Mateo I do tons of coffee and have been
known to partake in an espresso or two.

I push the envelope by lifting weights once a week.
A little whey protein, and lots of other workouts besides biking for me. I used to be a competitive swimmer and a cross country runner so I do some running, swimming, and a bit of weight lifting. I'm a pretty big guy already so I'm still workin on cutting back my weight etc.

Sometimes I drink juice with artificially added calcium.
Seriously, I think that is as far as I go.

Soy Chai Tea, Accelerade, and Gatorade for me. Sometimes, if I'm congested, the spray-in-your-nose decongestant helps me breathe.

I've tried creatine (which is legal) until the amount of water I had to drink made me sick. This was for non-biking sports. I never did it long enough to see its effect.

My secret? Crunchy style, low fat peanut butter and banana sandwiches. The only problem is my dealer was busted recently and I can't find a new one. Guess I'll have to wait for a new influx of Columbian peanut butter lords. :D

Ha ha!!!
I just pop a handful of multicolored tablets. Sometimes greens, sometimes blues, all labeled with m's....
I've tried putting flat diet coke in my water bottle, but I don't think it helped. Although, I do use the occasional sugar free Red Bull or emergen-c.

Me too... only, I leave out the protein powder.

I tried that stuff once during a marathon.
Only complaint was that it didn't really taste like anything.

When the holidays are over I "RIDE THE SNAKE!" I just don the patented vibrating heat beads while craming handfulls of crystal meth. Drops them holiday pounds like nothin else- over 356 pounds in four days!. not only that but it keeps me up so I can ride for a week straight with no time wasted on sleep thats an extra 56 hours of riding!http://smilies.jeeptalk.org/contrib/blackeye/Eyecrazy.gif
A couple of local DJs were suspended for a week in april for saying there was dihydrogen oxide in the city water, on april 1st. A bunch of fools called the cops asking if it was safe and so on.
G'day,

I do Dihydrogen Monoxide on long rides.
Not DHMO!! I understand that stuff really affects your kidneys and bladder, and l have heard it will infiltrate every single cell in your body. That is heavy duty stuff.
It is so potent that you become addicted almost instantly, and you will DIE within a few days if you do not get a regular fix.

You can join an organization to BAN this ubiquitous chemical compound:

I gotta confess that sometimes I need a Power Gel to get up that last hill on my ride home.

What are some uses of Dihydrogen Monoxide?
Despite the known dangers of DHMO, it continues to be used daily by industry, government, and even in private homes across the U.S. and worldwide. Some of the well-known uses of Dihydrogen Monoxide are:
as an industrial solvent and coolant,
in nuclear power plants,
by the U.S. Navy in the propulsion systems of some older vessels,
by elite athletes to improve performance,
in the production of Styrofoam,
in biological and chemical weapons manufacture,
as a spray-on fire suppressant and retardant,
in abortion clinics,
as a major ingredient in many home-brewed bombs,
as a byproduct of hydrocarbon combustion in furnaces and air conditioning compressor operation,
in cult rituals,
by the Church of Scientology on their members and their members' families (although surprisingly, many members recently have contacted DHMO.org to vehemently deny such use),
by both the KKK and the NAACP during rallies and marches,
by pedophiles and pornographers (for uses we'd rather not say here),
by the clientele at a number of homosexual bath houses in New York City and San Francisco,
historically, in Hitler's death camps in Nazi Germany, and in prisons in Turkey, Serbia, Croatia, Libya, Iraq and Iran,
in World War II prison camps in Japan, and in prisons in China, for various forms of torture,
by the Serbian military as authorized by Slobodan Milosevic in their ethnic cleansing campaign,
by many terrorist organizations,
in animal research laboratories, and
in pesticide production and distribution.
The Klan, Gays, Hitler? HAHAHAH WTF is this all about, this sounds like Reefer Madness!
What is this stuff, and what does it do?? Facts only please, no propoganda

Senzu Beans! :)
Actually, I sometimes eat the Gatorade powder straight. Seems to work better than diluting it with DHMO...
(I also took the red pill once. Learned that to be fast, I didn't need to *think* I was. I just had to *know* I was. ;) )
When I used to lift weights I used creatine for a while. I did notice a difference, but the lack of sufficient study data caused me to quit.
Like Smoothie said, I have also used Albuterol, but I have asthma. There have been times when I didn't think I would live (literally) without it.

I also regularly succumb to the allure of DHMO.
