I have noticed lately a weird noise from the front wheel. I have had some work done on my bike, new chain and some other stuff. And I got a new set of tires, Kevlar (belt & bead). The noise sounds metallic. Like something metallic is rubbing. It's in particular noticeable when riding the bike and moving the tire quickly from left to right. The front wheel isn't that complex (even for a novice like myself), and I looked at everything that I could think of... in particular if the brakes rub against anything. If stopped and I turn the wheels freely I don't hear the noise. Any idea what that could be? Is it the kevlar in the tires? Anybody else noticed this? - Thanks!
Are you sure there's nothing in the tire or rim? I had a similar problem and found that a piece of aluminum that backed the wheel weld had come loose. The only time it moved around was with the tire installed, fully inflated and rotating.

Assuming your rear brake works well, try lossening the quick release for the front brake so that it is wide open. Then do a short ride. See if the noise is still there. If it is, it is the wheel. If not, it is the brakes. That gives a start in your troubleshooting.
Remember, the rear brake is much less effective than the front, so ride is a safer place for this test.
First thing I'd check is spoke tension. Go around the wheel squeezing the spokes together in sets of two. See if any of them feel particularly loose. Loose spokes can rub against each other as the wheel turns, making noise.
Other than that, maybe a problem with the wheel bearings?

Thanks for your help, folks! Checking the spoke tension was good advise. I think I fixed it.
