I was wondering, I have a LeMond 853 steel and like it for its shock absorption and I was thinking of upgrading some of the components to carbon like, handelbars, stem and seatpost. My question is, will this affect the ride from a comfort point of view? will the vibrations be more prominent with carbon under my hands & bum?
Which Lemond do you have?

I don't think they will, but psychology is a wonderful thing. If you think it will, it probably will. A carbon fork would almost certainly help.
Actually the single best way to make a bike more comfortable is to increase the size of you tires one notch. Tires are much more effective shock absorbers then anything else you have.

Pat is right on. Not only that but the tire pressure as well. I was running max suggested pressure but I only weigh #135, so I dropped them to #85 lbs and still roll fine and handle MUCH better through tight turns and a smoother ride!
