Today is our 40th wedding anniversary! We are spending a long weekend in the mountains.

Going to go biking (easy ride) canoeing on Lake Dillon, dinner at a fancy restaurant, give the wife some nice jewelry (she is picking it out), go to a musical performance in Breckenridge.

Well, we did the biking thing. Too windy for the canoeing.

THOUSANDS of bikes in Summit County this weekend. I am not making that up. THOUSANDS!

A mix of sightseers, newbies, families, rollerbladers, a few walkers, roadies, etc.

It would be okay if everyone resigned themselves to about the same speed. BUT, the roadies have to show off how fast they are, weaving amongst the others (I was riding a road bike myself, but managed to contain myself).

The roadies have a perfectly good highway to go on if they want to impess eveyone, but, no, they try to make the MUP their personal speedway.

Congrats to you and your wife.

The MUPs have been pretty vacant down here in Denver, so I've been able to stack up the miles since everyone is up in the mountains for the 4th.

In spite of the crowds, I hope you and your best girl are having a great time.

Belated Congratulations. The longer you are married, the more you realize how much you need and depend on each other. At 40 years you guys must be pretty "needy" and dependable! Best wishes.
