Here's my ride. Some of you with fancy bikes might be  scared  of my bike. It's at least or around 35 years young. It's a Peugeot "I don'tknow what" that i got at the bike collective I'm always talking about. I love it!!!! It rides like a dream. I think I posted someplace else what all I have done to it. If anybody wants a retelling I'll be glad to accomodate. (Historian--I know you are a cracker jack speller and general smart guy--did I spell accomodate right? I can't find my dictionary. ) So, I am just so proud of my bike I wanted to share it with this great forum and all you wonderful posters. I want to put cyclocross tires on it--which I will do sometime in the future. My partner has a mountain bike as I have shared and it would be fun for us to be able to go "off road" together.

If you want to know more about your bike, I'm sure the folks on the Classic&Vintage (C&V) board could provide some insight on where to find more info.
Personally, I thinks she's a beauty -- classic lugged frame. I've she could talk, Oh I'm sure she could tell some stories......

Nice mixte. Is it 27 inch or 700 c?

I'm no expert but you might have trouble finding cyclocross tires for a 27 inch wheel bike. However, if your brakes will reach you might be able to put on some 700c rims in which case you will be golden.

I like it too. Old bikes are cool.

Nice Mixte. Those were huge with the touring crowd because when loaded with full packs you could step over the frame rather than the seat. I'd love to find one for a reasonable price around here. (If my wife would let me add another bike to the garage)

I like the look of the old mixte. Nice bike to ride. New is nice but I like riding my 85 Raleigh as much as my Specialized . Go to C & V and they can tell you all about it.

I'd propose if I weren't already courting Ms. Bumble. :)

Historian,
You and Doohickie can both be my biking husband. I'm sure Doohickie's wife and Ms Bumble won't mind.

If you have 27 inch wheels, you can use these Cyclocross tires: http://www.bicycletires.com/pkekrt/kenda_krosscyklo/pp.htm

or if you have 700c wheels: http://www.bicycletires.com/pkekwi/kenda_kwick_cyclocross/pp.htm

AWESOME! OK, OK, I'm a bit biased when it comes to vintage bikes, but still, that is one sweet mixte.

I have those exact same baskets that I'm going to put on my StephenH tribute Worksman. If only I could ride it like he does his:p
