Bicycle Mechanics - Stupid question I'm sure, but

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
do 9-spd DA chainrings match perfectly to 9-spd Ultegra?
I figure they do but before I spend more $ I decided to ask.

I would just get the Ultegra rings. There is not a huge performance gain and even the poseur factor is low because you need to be right next to them to tell they are D/A :)
[I agree with the Rev, but since chainrings last well in excess of 12000 miles, if you amortize it
out DA is only a little more per mile than Ultegra. Still, not worth it in my opinion. FWIW I had
the opportunity of comparing DA 12-27 cassette stack with Ultegra stack and noted the DA stack
weighed about 6.5oz, compared with 8oz for Ultegra. About $0.90/gram of difference in weight.
Of course a gram here, a gram there eventually adds up to real weight, and huge $$$.

I found a deal on DA rings so I was considering buying them and letting them sit around for a long time anyway. By the time I installed them I will have long since forgotten what i paid.
I could care less about the poser value.
Regardless, thanks for the answer.

As little as I ride, by the time I needed them I would forget where I put them.
