All,

Just getting back into the MB thing and wanted to know your thoughts on this two entry level bikes. Which one would you buy?

idk how you are built but i have long legs and shorter arms and found the gary fisher very uncomfortable. the seat post is further back than on most bikes do to the genesis design. i went with a rockhopper and im very pleased. cant say much about the cannondlae though

I like Fishers, but really, you need to ride them both to see what fits your body.

I like my cannondale f7. I dont have more than 5 hours in on it so I cant comment the duribility. I purchased it yesterday. Then chain broke, but thats my fault.

I have the Wahoo and really like it. I use it more for my urban riding, but it is a great bike. Decent component set, super nice paint and a great all around bike. I also have a Specialized Hard Rock HT that I prefer over the Wahoo. The Specialized just feels better to me on the trail. Even though I suspect the Specialized is heavier, it seems better balanced to me. Maybe check one out?

Any Cannondale with the Headshok fork will smoke anything made by GF. The Headshok is the lightest, stiffest and most responsive front suspension made today...it weighs only 2.8lbs and steers with telepathic, laser-like precision!

Spend a little more and get the C'dale(F5) with a Headshok, you will NOT regret it...

i have a Wahoo and i use it more on the street than i have the trail but, i love it . i'm a bigger guy 6'4" 220 and i havent had any problems with it yet. frame is solid doesnt feel like it flexes under my weight. my LBS doesnt carry Cannondale or Specialized so i dont really know about the other bikes.
