Any gear, first jump I do, it's tries to change, I adjust, return to gear and continue hopping> Its' fine.
??? Older cable...I'm thinking it's the screw on the derailler, the tension one- Do I go clock-wise or back?

Any thoughts?

Not a 'problem' I've just soo dialed in the bike, this little things BUGGING me.

You're barrell adjuster would be the key. which way is it jumping, up towards the wheel or down towards the frame?

I think HE is jumping. If it is you jumping, get a chain tensioner. Nothing else will work really well. Sometimes my gearing stays on sometimes it doesn't. With a chaintensioner...it stays on, period. :)

You can try to remove a chain link (two half-links). This will increase the tension on the derailleur spring.

Just make sure you have enough chain if you get in a big-big combo.
