Someone on a Rivendell Bike message board wrote about his experience adding an anatomic slot to his Brooks Flyer saddle.

If I ever come across an old used up Broks I would like to try the "Wrights" conversion with trimming and lacing. I'm not sure I have the nerves to try an antomical slot though!

I wouldn't try a drill as the guy on the link did, or a dremel tool as one of the responses suggested. You need to slice leather, not tear through it.

Although it really wouldn't be too difficult to cut a slot into a Brooks, for me it seemed a far better idea to pay the fifty bucks to have Selle Anatomica do the job. They also laminated the underside.

Wait, so he was poking through a quarter inch and then widened the slot even more? If he hits a big bump with his weight on the seat he's going to be in for a world of hurt!
