Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Can any Torontonians (who I hope are) here recommend some good routes to ride for TT training? Good as in having a minimal # of traffic lights and stop signs, flat terrain, minimal cars and pedestrians to dodge, gives you about a 45-60 minute ride at ~40 km/h.

Routes that are in the Richmond Hill and Markham area are most ideal for me, but I'd also be interested in other areas as well.

Thanks in advance!

Richmond Hill seems a bit hilly to begin with. The roads (like leslie) seem pretty quiet out in the country, but they can be narrow & hilly.

Hope you find something nearby for your TT.

Check w/ Paul & Bikesports on Yonge in Richmond Hill. He might have a place for you.

Thanks for the tips! It's true, there really aren't any flat roads of any decent length in Richmond Hill for TT training - at least not in the busier "core" areas of the town. I have gotten some tips about the area North of Major Mac on Dufferin, and as well further out to the East around Major Mac and Kennedy. Looking at Google Maps, it does look pretty open there. Just dunno about the gradients ...
