I am looking to upgrade my front shocks on my hardtail, currently have Rockshox Dart 3's and am looking for something a little more aggressive. My price range is around 300-450 dollars (or if you know of some good shocks for less, even better!) and am trying to keep them under four pounds. I am fairly new to mountain biking so I am not to familiar with what are the better brands when it comes to shocks and other components :bang:. I would be really greatful if you could even just point me in the right direction. Also, please ask away if there are any questions about what style of riding I do, about my bike, or what ever would help you distinquish which shocks are best for me.

Hope to hear from you guys, thanks everyone!

I think 4lbs is pretty darn light. Take a look at the Rockshox Reba SL (http://www.jensonusa.com/store/product/FK293A06-Rockshox+Reba+Sl+Fork+09.aspx). It's slightly more expensive than you wanted, but 3.6lbs. I also like the Tora Race (http://www.jensonusa.com/store/product/FK293A04-Rockshox+Tora+Race+Fork+09.aspx), and the Marzocchi 55 ATA (http://www.jensonusa.com/store/product/FK291A09-Marzocchi+55+Ata+Fork+09.aspx), which is an awesome all-round fork.

EDIT: Also this XC 700 ATA by Marzocchi (http://www.jensonusa.com/store/product/FK303A06-Marzocchi+Xc+700+Ata+08.aspx). Under 4lbs and in your price range.

You recomended a Reba and a 55 for the same application ....really?

The Tora would be a huge step up from the dart and not cost a bundle.

I am looking to upgrade my front shocks . . . .That's good. One should shy away from upgrading just one front 'shock.'
