Mountain Biking - I'm definitely bringing my pump next time...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I was debating if I should bring my pump along, but since the ride is only 1.5 hrs long, I left it in the car. And guess what? My rear(tube) punctured!!! The kind that leaks slowly. So if I had my pump I could have made it last a bit longer.
I also need a groin guard....

Hmm, yeah that would have helped to have the pump. What did you do? walk back to the car?

Well, I went on a bit with the softening tire, till the point where I can feel the rim. Yeah I walked back. I took another route that cuts to the main road quicker, but from the main road to my car was about 2 miles, so I had to walk the extra distance.
I don't know if it will be better to push my bike over the really hard hill ahead or take a longer route on the road. I was alone, so I figured it will be safer to be somewhere with people around.

Yeah, I dislike riding alone. I find it more fun with friends or family to talk with. Makes biking more fun (IMO). My friend had a flat about halfway down a DH trail and he rode the rest (this was a farely easy DH trail) with a flat tire. But his rim was fine, except for a couple of scratches. Nothing major. The LBS didn't notice.
P.S. FLAT TIRES SUCK...I should invest in a pump.

http://www.notubes.com/ and never worry about having a pump or flat! Not to mention improved traction.
