How does one ship (mail?) your bicycle across seas? And how much does it typically cost? I may be going to Singapore for the summer next year and I would like to bring my bicycle (it's only way to travel in such a small island-country!)

Thanks :)

There are many options when going West of U.S. for taking your bike as baggage on a flight cheaply. Try this page for fairly good info. http://www.ibike.org/encouragement/travel/bagregs.htm

Step 1 is to go to the website of whichever airline you're flying on and find out what their policies are for bringing a bicycle as checked baggage.
