Bicycle Mechanics - velo plug help

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
so i just built up some sweet wheels (king hubs x dt 1.1 x cx ray spokes) and i ordered some velo plugs to use on my wheels. ive used velocity rims (they make the plugs) and mavic rims and the veloplugs fit fine on 3 other wheelsets. however, on my new rims 24 of the 28 veloplugs i installed on the front wheel fell out ( i didnt even try on the back). is there any way to spread the prongs of the plugs? they only cost me a few bucks for a baggie but ill have to wait a week to get a different size- I WANNA RIDE MY WHEELS NOW! is there any way to make the veloplugs fit in holes which are ever so slightly too large? thanks
Did you get velo plugs of the right size? They come in two colors, red (small) and yellow (large).

the thing is, i did not know dt used the "larger" hole size... so no, i got red. i thought maybe like a downhill rim may have larger holes, and i couldnt find and specs ANYWHERE about dt's rims spoke holes

How about a little dab of silicone sealer or similar 'soft' glue on each. Should hold them in position but can still be easily removed when needed.
