So I'm just about at my front door, went onto the curb, there was someone walking next to the stairs that lead up to my apartment building so I was on the far side near the edge of the curb, I slow down, unclip my left leg and then realized that since I'm next to this high curb that my foot would actually land on the side of the street, which is 4" lower.
I realize I'm going to fall over to my left so I lean to my right. Then I realized "oh damn, my right foot's still clipped in." And started falling over to my right, I yanked my right foot and next thing I know, I'm leaned over and standing on my right foot, perfect dismount! Didn't even realize what I was doing, subconsciously manged to yank my foot out at the right angle to unclip as I was falling.

Me: 2, Clipless: 1

The battle wages on... and next time, I'll be more prepared than ever.

If you got the left, you'd be out of the tour right now.

I had a similar story, but not the pedal, I was lifting my bike going backward down a few stairs. I was on right side of the bike, my right leg was intended to step on ground and then the first stair, but instead I step on the first stair and went all the way down to the ground, probably 4 f. Well, it was hurt like hell and took me a week to bike again.
