quick question

Is there a bike path that connects the Terry Hershey Bike path to the one that goes along Braes Bayou into downtown?

Nope, unfortunately there's not. The Braes Bayou path ends on the west side at about Gessner.

You can get a map of Houston bikeways here: http://www.houstonbikeways.org/maps/index.php

Actually the Braes path starts/ends ( depending on point of view ) at Braeburn Glen Blvd. The path west past Gessner is pretty beat up, but passable. I live just off Braeburn Glen, so I use this bad path when I ride the Braes path. The is a proposal to connect the bayou path to Arthur Stoney park just the west side of Beltway 8, but who knows how some that will happen. If that happens this bad section of path west of Gessner will be fixed. It would be nice to has access west of 59/BW8.

It is sorta doable. 59 creates a big choke point though.

I've ridden Gessner to get from Braes--Terry Hershey, then took Briar Forrest. No real good north/south route in that area, in my opinion. At least most of Gessner is 3 lanes in one direction so for the most part cars move over and give you room. But this was typically on a Saturday when it might not be as crowded as certain times mid-week.
