Break out the winter riding gear boys and girls.

Highs in the mid to upper 80's Thursday and Friday.

:( I've had to drive all week. I'm having to find solace in my rides to the store, in the evenings.

I'll be back on the bike Friday. I can't wait.

The only riding I'll be doing Thursday and Friday will be on a stationary bike at physical therapy. There is NO justice in the world.

I've got a ride planned for tomorrow specifically because of the 10-day forecast as of last thursday. However, the internet weather is showing the temp at 79 degrees or so at 6:00 in the morning, and then a 40-50% chance of rain all day. So it's not like it's going to be cool in the morning, it'll just be a mess of humidity that's not as hot as it could be. Guarantee you i'll be completely soaked in sweat before 10 miles, if it isn't actually raining at the time.

Looks like there's a good chance of 3 hours of non-rain Friday between 9am - noon.
I'll pencil a ride in. :)

My Christmas comes September 25th......Every year, too! That's when I'm always in the middle of 2-3 weeks riding in northern Michigan and all of the bike shops up there have their SUMMER riding gear on sale....with several really warms weeks of riding left when I return to Texas it's a great chance to stock up and save some bucks, too! The other advantage of this situation is that many of the items I find are a whole lot different than what the local stores around here stock so I'm not "shorting out" my lbs while I'm getting to try out some gear that perhaps I've always wanted to use!

This years trip is REALLY cool though for another reason other than the sales and nice weather....I've timed it perfectly to get to ride 3 century rides on three consecutive weekends! I always do my own concocted ride, the "Mackinac Island Singlespeed Circular Century" ride on the first weekend in October but in addition to that ride this year I've timed it right to do the "Middle of the Mitten" century on the last Saturday in September and then on the way back to Texas I will be able to do a century ride in and around St. Louis/Mississippi River-Missouri River/Illinois/St. Charles, Missouri. It's the Ride the Rivers ride and I've never been in the area at the right time to do it....looking forward the the ride across the Mississippi River!

I'm truely sorry. Our dive shop uses lake travis for some specialty dives,
we've stopped going down there since the lake is something like 30feet down.

we had some hellacious storms roll through this morning. Rain in Dallas at the end
of July? end of the world must be right round the corner

I'm not retired, but every September/October I say f-it to everything and everybody and head north for some relief! It's a little tough for a couple of weeks after I get back but so far my shop has survived and the break is worth triple what it cost me in business!
