So...after Verbier, Cadel may have thought "Hmmmm...maybe I'll save myself for the Vuelta."

Someone will have to climb better than Pereiro to win...........

Shame Contador doesn't have a team.

It will be interesting to see if Contador races the rest of the season. And I think he has to be let out of his last year of his contract to ride for someone else next season.

What's the incentive to let him out? I'd make buy his way out.

Oh, no doubt that there will have to be a buy out by whatever team that wants him. But Astana will still have to agree to let him out of it. That team is a cluster f---. They might not let him out just to screw him since he turned their offer down. But money talks.

I hope someone steps up and gets him onto to a decent team soon. Hate to see this drag on. At any rate, probably no chance of him riding the Vuelta this year.

Valverde might not be a bad bet for the Vuelta this year.

I hope Simon Gerrans makes some noise...Cervelo was stupid for leaving him of the Tour roster.

Andy Schlek is my pick.

Andy has already stated that he's only riding this race as a tune up for the Worlds. Too bad because I think he's be the odds on favorite.

Universal online. They did the Giro and the coverage was off the hook.

Schleck may be out due to his crash in the Clasica San Sebastian (http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/schleck-in-doubt-for-vuelta).

That really surprised me also. No way he's a GC contender, but he'll contend for a stage win or two.

Looks good. I'm actually going to try and watch it this year.

+1 He's been riding pretty well and not going to France may really motivate him. If not him I could see either VanDeVelde or Kreuziger (yeah I said it :p) winning it. For some reason I the Spanish getting owned this Vuelta. I'll probably be wrong but wtf?

IIRC, controlling interest in the Vuelta was bought a couple years ago by ASO (also own TdF et al.).
