Hi folks,

I have an 8 speed road ultegra system and just got a new cassette and bought a chain. Performance had the sram-68 chain on sale, so i got it. The package says mtb, does it matter? Will i regret using it,
thanks,
jeff

no diff, except they say it has some kind of riveting that makes it tougher. anyway i use the sram 68 on my roadie. it rocks. i also suspect the 48 is just as good, but i'm a sucker for higher numbers.

the 68 works fine. I use it because I prefer the silver finish to the black of the 48- it is easier to tell when it needs cleaning.

Some of the Sram road chains have hollow pins for wieght reduction and the one I bought has slots cut into the side plates; same reason. Hollow pins seemed like taking a compromise on durability.

I use Sedis ATB chains on my road bike.
