Weekend warrior here with a 2007 Felt F85.

Stock tire size is 700x23c and I'm wanting some suggestions on upgrading the tires and inner tubes.

What do you guys prefer?

Depends on the type of riding you want to do and how much you want to spend...or if you're trying to reduce weight, increase resistance to flats, etc.

Personally I prefer a 25, Continental Grand Prix usually. General road riding, better overall ride and performance on rough roads...if the inner tube still holds air just swap it over or are you looking for some special quality in the tube?

I prefer Michelin Pro Race 3 tires and Michelin Ultra Lite tubes with shortest possible valve stems. These tires are fairly light weight and performance oriented. They are softer than most and offer a good grip in turns and a comfortable ride. They are dependable and durable enough for daily riding. Glass, goatheads, and sand burrs can get through the tread easier than some of the more puncture resistant (heavier) tires.
The sidewalls are stronger than most of the comparable brands.
If you are in Texas (DFW) you are in the goathead and sand burr capital of the world. Keep out of the grass and weeds.
