Cyclist Wiggins happy to release drug tests results

LONDON — Bradley Wiggins is prepared to release all of his drug-test results from the past 10 years to prove that his impressive fourth-place finish in the Tour de France was not tainted.

Winner of three Olympic gold medals, the 29-year-old rider tied the best finish by a British competitor in the Tour de France which finished Sunday.

"I don't want there to be any suspicion or doubt that what I did was natural. I have nothing to hide and I want this transparency," Wiggins said Wednesday. "If more people did that fans would have a lot more respect for our achievements.

"British Cycling have all my blood tests results from the age of 19 and I might even release everything from the last 10 years."

Marketing, dont believe the hype.
Lance said he would have a "transparent" comeback, what a load of horse crap that turned out to be.

Bradley is officially on my blacklist. The gull to come out and make such a statement, just because he thinks his blood doping is masked with all the new techniques that have been revealed by other riders in recent months.

Sorry Brad, you can fool some of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time.

The British finally have something to flurry over. Let them have their fun. There is no such thing a bad publicity.
The longer Wiggens can stay in the headlines, the better for the British tabloids. Its all sales, sales, sales.

How did you find out about his doping?

that's a good one :thumb:. what wiggins is really doing is proving he was never positive, which is old news.

So my question is, Is there a way to beat the Blood Passsport Program that Garmin uses??

Nah, he's just one of the most cynical people I've ever "met" (or "read" in this case).

I'm still believing that it is possible for an athlete to discover hidden potential through mental strength, good training, and sheer grit.

I believe that too, until you start throwing money around.
That is what is so great about riding with your friends.

You guys throw money around? I'd think you'd save it for post-ride snacks at Dudley's. :D :innocent:

Personally, I'm very inclined to believe his performance is legit.

Ya, a dollar here, a dollar there. Before you know it you are broke!

More of a Pie company guy myself.

amen brother! blessed be the julian pie company! frequent consumption of said
pie leads to frequent contemplation of palomar, mesa grande, henshaw, anza-borrego,
cuyamaca, laguna mtns (mix n' match any 3) rides leads to frequent realization (& suffering)
that you're too damn heavy from all that pie which leads to frequent bf posting instead of
riding...

back on topic...i think wiggins' heart is in the right place but the frequent
holier than thou attitude leaves me a little cold. hopefully, he won't be
in the position of being in his 30's and having been in position to win/place/show
several gt's if he'd only had a little extra edge...this year was the first
step towards that. maybe he'll be the rare, untempted cyclist who was on
the verge of greatness/huge contract etc. that was at peace with his natural
abilities. i'm not crying foul over his recent gt contender transformation;
i'm merely wondering if his track success doesn't replicate itself on the
road, what will he do?

What a lousy marketing plan. Market a clean team full of dopers. One positive will sink Garmin along with most of the US sponsorship dollars. Heck, no one even expects Garmin to win.

Does blacklist equal start list? What new techniques? I must be visiting the wrong sites.

I did check the "Sun" this morning and Wiggins is already out of the headlines and what ones there are don't mention doping. Sad really, that even is scandal, cycling is underpaid.

My question is: If all the winners cheat and all the underdogs cheat why follow the sport at all? And I thought I was a cynic.

monosierra

If everyone cheats, then its good for the fans - we get to see upgraded performances. And since everyone from podium finishers to Lantern Rouge contestants cheat, then everyone's equal once again.

My thoughts exactly! I know that people cheat, not just cycling, but at all sports, but if it really upset me to the point that I thought everyone cheated, and that I just lived for the day that they were "found out", I think I'd take up stamp collecting:rolleyes:

Cynical?

Look at the 2005 tour podium and listen to that insane speech.

Heras, Hamilton, Landis, it goes on and on and on and on...........

Well, Armstrong announced last year that he was all about transparency with his drug testing program. Everyone applauded his forthright stance on his drug testing program. Then, he cancels it. Lesson to be learned here. Wiggins just doing the same thing, unless he actually sticks with it, this all just advertising. Until some time passes, assuming he doesn't pull what Armstrong, then there will be some level of validity in what he is saying now.
