Hi C&V,
I was looking on CL for a Road Bike that I could get used to the style of riding on for a reasonable price and came across this:
http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/bik/1294430343.html
Is it worth the $70 if it is my size (which I'm not sure of yet, since noone on CL responds to emails:mad::mad:)
Thanks for the info. :D

I think the price is on the high side, not outrageous though. The main drawbacks with the Schwinn light weights was that they were not leight weight. The rims and most of the parts are steel and it looks like they have a good amount of rust on them. Figure the price of the bike plus around 50 dollars to tune it up. That is if you will do the work yourself. You can find much better for 70.00, you can find much much worse too!

$70 is too much money for an EF example such as that. $40-$50 tops.

It will be very heavy and slow.
Market price on that Continental, if it is all cleaned up and ready to ride, would be significantly higher than asking price. But it does not look that clean, I think I see some rust on the chrome (easy to take care of, but should hold price down).
The old heavy Schwinns are pretty desirable around here. People are really attracted to the styling, build and quality, and overlook the heavy weight.
$70 in this condition is about right. In sparkling, clean, ready to ride condition, it would be worth quite a bit more.
Have you other guys bought or sold an EF Schwinn lately (at full market, not garage sale/thrift store pricing)?

One thing to consider is that if that is a vintage Schwinn speedometer on it, they have been sold on the " Bay " for as much as $50 ! That would really help bring the overall cost down.
Around here, that bike in very nice shape, will bring $150-$175 , but there is a " strong market," here.
