I've been wondering (and I'm bored), whats the deal with the curvy bottom tube on some of the GF frames? Anyone smart on that?

That article says that it is so you have more clearance for front wheel travel, but also maintain the original geometry and have enough room for bottles. I've also heard that it is for extra stiffness, but to me (a mechanical engineering student), it looks like it would welcome flex in the downtube more so than a straight one. But it is 3:30 in the morning and I am not an engineer yet haha
