Northern California - Thinking of repeating the very first ever Slowpoke Ride in San Ramon this Sunday

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

We found a babysitter for this Sunday so I'm thinking that I'd like to take my wife out on the first ever Slowpoke Ride route. Aren't I romantic? Anyway, I think we'll do the short route, pretty much a there and back from the BBQ place to the rail station. If anyone would like to join in for a 25 mile ride, please do.

I may be interested. I searched the forum for a description of the ride, no luck. Would you more a bit more detail?

Thanks,
Geary

Here's your link. It is my wedding anniversary so I think I better plan something non-cycling for that day. I hope you get some takers though, this is a fun route and the BBQ is very good too.

Thank you! Just what I was looking for. Guess I need to improve my searching skills!

Thanks for finding the original link. Now I know where to go and won't get lost! Nothing worse than taking your spouse, who rarely rides, on a ride that may be too long for her and then getting lost.

I'm mulling it over. What's the headcount so far?

Yes, it is very important to know whether you are joining. If so, I'll have to bring lots of spare tubes! :D
Great posts from the Eastern Sierras!

So far the headcount is two for sure and we are going to ride verrry slowly. So if galyons is joining in, I'm hoping someone of his same ability will ride with him. Btw, I could've chosen to ride in Benicia/Fairfield but I'm a hankerin' for a BBQ sammich.

I am in. Don't worry about "dropping me"! ;) Back40 is a Pleasant Hill landmark. (Although now in their 3rd PH location, the newest is purty fancy-smancy!) Never tried the "Johnny-come-lately" southern location. But bet I can locate it with olfaction! Should be a treat!

Would be nice to have BigBossMan join though!

Geary

Probably gonna pass on this one - thought it was for Saturday.

I added a prologue and truncated the ride! (Home, Pleasant Hill to Bernal Ave, Pleasanton, 51 miles) Perfect temperature, but strong cross winds most of the way. A great ride, even solo. (Sadly, no sammich!)
