Recumbent - Metamora 4x50 - A bent rider's course!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Any of you bent riders going to Metamora (http://www.ultramidwest.net/UM/metamora/mmHome.aspx) - off hand this looks like a "bent rider's record" course - with at least four high quality bents to be jamming down the road for bragging rights......
What I want to know - is how hard is it to draft off a Bacchetta bent? Are the fastest ones using 24 or 26 inch wheels?
The Bacchetta hi-racers (corsa, TiAero,Carbon Aero) all use 650c (571) wheels, not 26" (559). You can catch a draft off of them if you are short enough and good enough at it.
Almost no production recumbents designed for performance use 24" (507 or 520) wheels. The Corsa 24 is an exception but it isn't really a design that lends itself to 520 wheels.
RAAM was apparently a "bent riders" course with the 4-man RANs team picking up time while climbing the Rockies and beating all other 4-man teams to the finish this year.
The course looks very interesting and the fact that the organizers are recumbent friendly is very cool. I would love to plan on this for 2010, but it is too late for me to look at it in 2009.
