Road Cycling - Incounter with Coke.. can

4th of July.. didn't want to start drinking at 3:30 so I went for a ride in some mild rain. About half way through my ride up the most difficult hill of the ride a car passes by and a full coke can comes flying out of the window at me. :eek: Right at my head!! Thank god i've played tons of sports and somehow moved out of the way. but it was so close it hit the buckle on my helmet.

Either the people in the car are school drop outs that are over weight, or drunk.. either way I'm pissed and next time I'm going to flag down a car after to catch up with them to get their tag number.

Happened to a buddy of mine once, only it was a full bottle of snapple, and he wasn't able to dodge it. Luckily somone got the plate # and the passenger of the car was charged with felony assault, the driver was charged with conspiracy to commit a crime, and reckless endangerment.

Yeah, but they may have gotten lesser charges... I'd have to ask, but I know at least the guy that threw the bottle was put in jail for a little bit.

How do you think that jail conversation went?

Big scary man- "What are you in for?"
idiot snappple man - "I threw a bottle at a cyclist"
Big scary man- "Huh...bend over"

Well at least that's what I hope happened.

A friend of mine that is a cyclist, and good looking blonde at that, gets things thrown at her often when ridding through the Metro Park system in the Cleveland suburb areas. Several times they have emptied their ash trays out the window at her and other times glasses of ice thrown out at her. Nice.......
