...or best one I've ever been on, is the B3306 in north-west Cornwall (http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=st+just&daddr=50.141706,-5.677528+to:st+ives&hl=pl&geocode=&mra=dpe&mrcr=0&mrsp=1&sz=12&via=1&sll=50.152486,-5.599251&sspn=0.102292,0.22007&ie=UTF8&ll=50.170302,-5.607834&spn=0.051127,0.110035&z=13), running roughly from St Just to St Ives. I was riding from St Ives to Land's End and took this route on the way back. Road cycling isn't really what I enjoy to be honest, but what a road this was. A quiet, narrow, archetypal twisting country lane with views of the sea that had me literally stopping and staring for twenty minutes at a time. Cars every minute or so, no motorbikes. It passes through many small villages and for the amount of effort required in the uphills, the downhills are exceptionally rewarding, blisteringly fast and twisting, with many lean-in turns giving it a roller-coaster feel. Road surface at times isn't the best, but perfectly adequate and to be honest with views like there are, it'll be the last thing on your mind. The rolling hills in the area of Cornwall are beautiful.
Make sure to cycle east on it though, as it isn't nearly the same road the other way, the uphills become much more strenuous and the subsequent downhills aren't as rewarding as they should be. Big climb right as you get out of St Ives also. All in all, the most perfect road I've cycled in Britain, do it if you have a chance.
Anyone happened to have cycled it, or have any particular roads they like in Britain?
