Hello,
Recently I bought a nice 'cross frame. I noticed that the paint job, although nice, is very prone to scratches so I decided to clear coat it. Can someone tell me how I should go about clear coating? I know, I have to wipe tha frame clean with the alcohol and handle it with rubber gloves, but I m curious about the number of layers of clear coat that I need to apply. Do I need to sand-paper the clear finish lightly between the coats or I can just keep applying certain coat after coat every 30 or 30 minutes? How helpful are clearcoats anyway when it comes to protecting the frame?
Thanks.

i recently painted and clear coated my old bike b4 i ordered a new bike...the clear coat helps protect the paint from bubbles in the paint, it makes it look shiner and nicer, and it protects it from bird **** and helps prevent rust...id suggest to sand very lightly w/ the finest grain u can get...id wait more than 30 mins in between paintin or else it wont turn out right id suggest clear coatin it ever 1 1/2 -2 hours...clear coat is well worth the money and the time...
