The saddle on my bike is worn down to the point that I have to put duct tape on it just so that I can ride, now the tape is starting to wear off as well, and soon I will be sitting on just the rails, can I keep taping it up, or should I chuck it and get a new seat, I need the seat I have now for at least 1 more week.

In the grand scheme of things it's really up to you. A new saddle would probably be more comfortable to you if the old one is as worn as you say it is, but no one will force you to buy another one.

Tape!!
Jk, a new seat will take time to break in just like anything else. BUT it's better than rails going up your butt.

speaking of this topic, I'm quite annoyed that my specialized body geometry pro saddle is starting to sag in the middle, after only like 2000 miles. it is causing me to slide forward a bit, onto the narrow part of the saddle. not too comfy. to alieviate this, I have to point the saddle up more, which causes it to stick into other things...
