This ride is a few weeks away. I will be riding with a few friends who live in that area. Any other BF riders going to make this ride?

Looks like they have changed their website. Here is the current link for this event http://houstoncy-fairlions.org/node/4 . We are planning to ride the 62 mile event.

For the Houston area, check this site:
http://www.bicycletexas.com/
Note that some rides are listed with a 2008 date. That means it hasn't been updated for this year. In some cases, there won't be one this year. In some cases, you can click on the link (or google the ride name) and find the updated information on their website for 2009. But checking it once in a while lets you plan these rides out a bit- who knows, there may be a better ride that same day?

Up here in North Texas, it's www.bicycle-stuff.com (http://www.bicycle-stuff.com). Both these sites are listed in the "Texas Rides" sticky in the Texas forum.

This is going to be my first real ride. I'm doing the 24 mile route, mainly so I can get a feeling for the logistics of a large event. This is all in preparation for the Pineywoods Purgatory and the Austin Livestrong Challenge.

I'm gonna do the 100k or possibly the century. The hills scare me :)
Might be a light turnout if they didn't even get the 2009 update to bicycletexas, but it should be a good set of routes.

I suspect that's a bicycletexas problem if it's not updated, not the ride organizers- it can be a challenge for the website operators to keep up on each ride. If you see updates that need to be made, let 'em know.

The wife and I will be doing the 24 mile route. It will be her first organized ride. :)

Forecast for Sunday is looking good... still a bit early but weather.com shows only 20% chance.

Yes it is. I generally do it as part of my MS150 training. Definately one of my favorites. The best part is that right turn onto Main in Anderson. :D

I'm going to try and make this one. I did the 100 last year for my first century and would like to do it again. Nice route.

I got the call from my boss a minute ago. I will have to work tomorrow - no Ride for Sight as I had planned. Maybe next year. I hope it is a nice ride.

I wholeheartedly agree! For my first organized ride, I couldn't have asked for better weather. The course (40 mile) was beautiful, and some of the hills at the end were pretty tough for this newbie.
