OK, I guess I would be the newbie here. I'm hoping y'all can help me out with some information and/or guidance.
My parents handed over to me a JC Higgins tandem bicycle that they bought in about 1961 or so. It's black with white pinstriping and in reasonably good condition considering that it's been sitting unused in a non-climate controlled garage in Western New York for - oh - 40 years(!). I cleaned up the chrome with and used some automotive polishing compound on the paint... and it looks pretty good. The rims however are prolly a lost cause (appearance-wise) though.
So, I'm wondering what any of you can tell me about this bike and how I should care for (and/or restore) it. Any place to get parts for these kinds of things?
[Oh, and in about 1969(?) I had an orange "Renegade 3 Click-Stick" stingray style bike. Anyone familiar with those?]
Thanks in advance.
- Mike.
