Went to the LBS this morning to be fitted for a new bike. I had every intention of walking out the door with a Trek 2200. I pick up my Trek 5000 in the morning. After the fitting he checked his inventory and found no 2200's in my size. I test rode a 2300 nice ride, quick and handled well. Then I tried out a Trek 5000, super ride, quick and nimble. Basically the same components as the 2200 but with a full carbon frame. The way it felt during the test ride. Seems like it will be more comfortable over a long ride than the 2300 aluminum with carbon seat stays. Hopefully tomorrow will be a little nicer than today high winds and rain threatening all day so far.
On a closing note you have to give thanks for light bike. I had to carry the 5000 a couple blocks back to the LBS. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come but it had a blowout on the test drive.
