I'm relatively new to cycling (always had a bike but nothing serious) and am trying to get into road cycling specifically. I've heard a lot about this forum so thought I would take my chances, join, and see how helpful you guys really are :).

Thanks. I'm currently riding a Univega Sports 10, not top of the line or anything, but it gets me around and serves its purpose.

You don't need a top of the line bike, just one that gets you where you want to go. As those in the Road Cycling forum will tell you, "It's not the bike, it's the engine." :p
