Anyone with a Fuji Touring? I'm thinking about buying a new road bike for 50 and 100 mile joyrides and today I tested one of these. I found it very very comfortable. I found it responsive; quick and easy to get up on the pedals.

They're a nice bike. Some of the older ones had some issues with kinda "not so standardized" parts, ie 1" threaded headtubes and the like, but I looked at a current one and doesn't look to be the case any longer. I have a Fuji Cross bike, a lot of value for the $

That said, in that price range look at the Novara Randonee at REI and the Jamis Aurora. All pretty compatible.

Cue the LHT responses now :P.

Did a short tour with a guy who's ridden across the US twice on a Fuji tourer.

I bought one a few months back and have about 400 miles on it so far. I find it to be comfortable and it handled well when I had about 30 pounds of stuff loaded in the rear panniers and on the rack. I did have an issue with the wheels, but the shop did a warranty replacment and those wheels seem to be fine.

They still have the old fashioned threaded steerer, but I did not see that as that big of a deal. I like being able to easily adjust my handle bar height. The bike comes with 32mm tires and there should be clearance for 35-37mm.

With this weekends 20% off performance coupon one would come to $736 -- not a bad price. I was lucky enough to get a leftover '08 that had mark down and then applied a 10% off coupon.
