After me getting 2 bikes in the last 2 years, and my oldest daughter getting one also, it was my wife's turn. She has really not shown an interest in them, so I did not push her into it. Then when I was buying my cross bike, she saw one she kind of liked and said she might like to have one so she could ride with our daughter. I was of course overjoyed, but I still did not want to pressure her into something she did not want to do. I took her to a couple of bike shops that I trusted and let her pick out what SHE wanted. I know if she did not like it, she was not going to ride it. The only requirement that I had was that it needed to have enough gearing to make it up some of the hills around here. Other then that, it was her decision. After searching, she fell in love with a Specialized Globe 3 Camel in one of the nicest metallic red colors that I have seen. As a matter of fact, I'm a little jealous that my bikes are not that color. Anyway, she seems to be happy to have it and will be doing her first ride with our daughter tomorrow.:) If I was not doing a monster training ride for my century next weekend, I would be going with them too. :( So without any further ado, the pictures.

Sounds like you made a lot of wise decisions reading your post. Great color, it looks fast just sitting still. Well, something to think about on your monster training ride, is the stories you will hear when you get home.

Not sure why the "minus" sign, but I would imagine that is the minimum distance you want to be from a car when being passed. I don't think the car is going to see that sticker though. :)

The -3 cars symbol means that by riding your bike, it is the equivalent to having 3 less car driving around. Thats at least what the guy that sold us the bike said. I'm not sure how that Specialized determined that number because some of the bikes had -1 cars on them.

Well, she did her first ride yesterday and really liked it:D She said that the bike rode nice and stopped well, so all is good on that front. I rode the first quarter mile or so with her and my daughter, and she looked good and stable. She said she was kind of figuring out the shifting, but wanted me to help her more with that. We wanted to go for a ride today, but she is a little under the weather, so we'll put that off until she feels better. Other then her not being sure about going down hill, she thinks that she could start to like this bike thing. :thumb:

That's awesome! I wish I could get my wife to become interested in riding. Then again, I can barely afford to keep myself in bike shwag. Maybe I wont push it after all.
