Maybe this is just a strange observation to me, but today's ride home it was 112 degrees when I left the office. I took my longer route home, which is about 12 miles, and ends with a nice big hill.
Just as I was pulling into the driveway, extremely hot, a temperature alarm goes off on my phone letting me know there is a problem in our datacenter. Not really in the mood to do that ride again so soon, I hop in the wife's car and head to the office.
I have been commuting daily, even in winter, for about 18 months now. What I soon discovered is that not only had I completely lost touch with what it was like to drive a car in rush hour traffic, all the billboards and even some businesses had changed along the route. It was almost like being in a different town.
