I'm the original owner, purchased it as a freshman in college. It's not fully original: saddle, freewheel & chainwheels, grip tape, and tires were replaced over the years to modernize the ride. Everything else original, including Suntour Cyclone derailleurs, Suntour hubs, Dia-Compe side pull brakes, and Mavic wheels. It's in good condition given that I still ride it off and on regularly. It's white with red decals. I haven't seen one like it around.
I'm thinking of getting a modern CF bike but keep this one around for nostalgia.
Any idea on the value?

Sounds much like my 86 SR500, white with red lettering. I had mine upgraded to the, then new, Shimano 600 SIS shifters, rear derailleur and freewheel. Wheels & seat were replaced. seat replaced. Still have it. Still ride it. But I purchased a CAAD 8 R900 with Truvative Compact and Campy 10 speed in 2007. I thought that 21 years of service from the R500 entitled it to a bit of a rest.
Value? Well you stated it already "I'm thinking of getting a modern CF bike but keep this one around for nostalgia."

If I'm reading you correctly, its a friction shifter. I'd make it at about $150 in good condition ready to ride, maybe $200 on a really good day.
As your back up bike, it's worth more. Add in nostalgia, I'd keep it.
I still have the Nishiki Ariel MTB that I bought at a yard sale, the bike that got me back into cycling. As long as I have the space, it stays with me.
Around here it would go higher, as long as it still has touring components. Touring bikes are hot, red hot right now. I would estimate $250, maybe $275 for a near perfect one. Of course, the steel touring bikes are even hotter, but buyers do have a lot of respect for Cannondales. It really depends on condition of bike, frame, and paint.
