Businessman killed while riding bicycle; no charges filed
A Scottsboro businessman and exercise enthusiast was killed on his bicycle Wednesday afternoon by a driver reaching for her cell phone.
Carlos Serrano, 49, died at the scene on Veterans Drive in Scottsboro after he was struck by the vehicle driven by Kimberly Kelsey Drawbaugh, 26. The police report stated the driver said she didn't see him as she reaching into her purse for her phone. Serrano was thrown 200 feet from the spot of impact near the intersection of Crawford Road.
Anybody else notice that there seems to be a pattern here... older cyclists being killed off by younger cell phone users...
And when in the heck are they going to start laying down "charges" for this sort of senseless "murder."

Serrano's family should at least sue the cr@p out of her and ask the state DMV to revoke her license. This is a disgustingly clear case of reckless driving, but people do seem to get away with this all the time.

A survivor of a car-on-bike hit-n-run in Louisiana a few years back cried out the precise question we need to be asking our collective lawmakers AND LEA's:
"HOW MANY OF US HAVE TO DIE BEFORE SOMETHING IS DONE?!?"
