I didn't know anyone cared about scratches on a MTB, I thought it was almost a badge of honor along with a certain amount of dirt.
But now that you've brought it up;
Speaking as a bike flipper, black is the easiest color to touch up. Bright white, like your bike, is a distant second along with certain, vintage metallic burgandy colors. Everything else is very difficult to match right out of the can.
So you've researched touch-up paint for MTB's? (:lol:ghey:lol:)
I guess as far as aesthetics go...a frame beaten to piss (the natural way) with a smattering of new red ano components is dead sexy.

My black manitou has white scratches showing up all over it

Counterpoint of a clean bike in a dirty environment is much more poignant.

Those scratches were on there 2 weeks after I got the fork.

If you get rid of the hayes brakes, and go with Avid. The scratches will self heal.

They are avid brakes. I'd sooner want XT levers with saint calipers instead now.

that's a hayes rotor. Isn't it?
I thought that was what stickers were for
to cover scratches???

The two bottom ones was from crashing in a rock garden, the top most one I accidently did myself when I decided to ghost ride the bike.
I thought that was what stickers were for
to cover scratches???You should have listened to me, Dan, and gotten those AngryAsian stickers while you had the chance . . . .

I'm actually look at Avids to replace my soles later on down the road...
reading the reviews and how they are currently performing... I a little edgy about the Hayes Soles.
sorry to jack the thread.
Thats alright, the first ride, I scracthed my Dawg down to the metal lol.
:wtf: I'm never angry. Not you, Siu . The other — the capital 'A' — Angry Asian, James Huang. Use to run a real good suspension tuning/service web site at www.angryasian.com. Offered AngryAsian decals for your fork lowers too. Cool guy.

You sure about that? You seem a bit peeved in the "Junkyard for Moderator" post.

No, not really.
I was wondering...am I missing something here? Is there some sort of hidden Devinci Code in this thread or are we actually just talking about a couple of scuffs on some white lowers?

Yeah. We're talking about Dan's lowers, aren't we?
I never gave much thought to Dan's lowers until now. Definitely white.

Um.. congrats? It's a mountain bike it's supposed to look like that if it's being used properly.

Oh trust me. He uses it properly, alright. I try not to worry about him getting hurt he rides so hard.
