First off, this is not a post about falling and there are no gory injury images. I apologize for the mis-leading thread title.
What I do have to report is that yesterday dawned sunny and bright and cloudless. The humidity was low and everyone’s spirits seemed high. Every where I rode people were friendly. They waved, said hello, drove courteously and everyone seemed happy. I wanted to pinch myself to ensure that I wasn’t dreaming but was afraid to, in case I was as I didn’t want it to end.
I’ve included some pictures from the ride. Now since I generally ride the same areas from ride to ride I can’t show many overall views that I haven’t shown already, so I’ve decided to make this a bit of a Home & Garden picture show. I almost always ride through sub divisions and housing tracts with a few miles of MUP’s mixed in. The wet, cool weather we’ve been having has been very beneficial to the area gardens and flower beds making the rides through the various neighborhoods very pleasing to the eye. Add to that the fact that for some magical reason, everyone seemed to be in great spirits yesterday and very industrious (there were garage sales all over the place along with many roadside treasures discarded from home cleanups or room renovations) and you can start to get a feel for how enjoyable yesterday’s ride was.
Let’s start with an image depicting the peace and tranquility that reigned as the ride began shortly after dawn. I didn’t do a great job showing it but there is a carpet of wildflowers in the foreground…..

Here’s an original garden out in front of someone’s house. They’ve used everything but the Kitchen sink as a planter here…..

Ooops……

One shot of the MUP. This is one of my favorite stretches and goes like this for about a mile. I didn’t see another person on the entire length of this wooded section this morning….

How can anyone ride by these without stopping to admire their beauty…….

Here’s a few of the little houses along the lake front. What we’re seeing here is the backs of these houses, the fronts face the lake. Most of the lake side of these homes consist of large windows providing panoramic views of natures big show…..

Now for the source of the thread title, Black & Blue. I started this ride on one bike, came home, had lunch, and then finished it on another bike. I started out on my Black Bike…..
